![]() ![]() This is definitely not a game you buy if you're looking for long game time or replayability. This is an absolutely amazing puzzle game, that is like nothing. The puzzles, art, and story meld together beautifully. I am sure some of you caught this on Nintendo Switch - but it just missed my radar until now. Gorogoa is probably unlike any game you've. However, its ending may seem abrupt, even if the length feels appropriate. This is the kind of game where length is matter of meticulous craft and construction, rather than a lack of content. Treat it like buying an interactive movie. That brevity - around two hours - isn't a flaw though, but a sign of polish. That 1h6min was absolutely worth it though. Put it this way- start to end, I have 1h6min on it. Right at the moment when you're most eager for more, when you're ready and could not be more ready to tackle the most devilish conundrum the developer could throw at you, the game ends. All the puzzles build towards harder and harder ones, and then- that's it. One main complaint I have is that it suffers from typical indie puzzle game syndrome. That's something you should experience yourself. The story- if you'd call it one- I won't spoil it. With the simple mechanics of moving scenes around and zooming in and out, there's a surprising amount of depth and brilliance in the puzzles. It's reminiscent of that old Flash game "Continuity", but it's not an action game. ![]() Gameplay itself is based around perspective and arranging scenes. The one bad thing about the game is that it is criminally short. Gorogoa is a rather interesting puzzle game as it presents itself in a way thats entirely unique. The game effortlessly allows the player to move through spaces and then zoom out to find themselves in a completely different place. There is a story, though I didn’t 100 follow it. But it stands above the rest by blending both these elements seamlessly with beautiful art and enchanting gameplay. Gorogoa doesn’t rely heavily on exposition to engage the player. Gorogoa, like many other indie games out there, is a narrative puzzle game. ![]()
